Food Service Shipper/Receiver - Seasonal

The Food Service Shipper/Receiver compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing and shipping food and beverage materials, supplies and equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Compiles data from sources such as purchase orders, invoices and requisitions and writes, types or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping or other records.
- Fulfills delivery of food and beverage related stock to various locations around the resort.
- Keeps stock established sequence and releases older stock for use first to avoid waste where possible.
- Prepares requisitions for delivery to resort locations, orders or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
- Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
- Signs for orders received from delivery trucks, notates/receives credit slips from driver and immediately notifies supervisor.
- Maintains all storage areas, coolers, freezers and loading docks in a clean, safe and sanitary condition.
- Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and write common business levels of correspondence, memos, and formatted letters. Ability to
effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order systems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must hold valid State of Vermont Driver’s License and be eligible for enrollment in Jay Peak Resort’s Motor Vehicle Insurance policy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area, and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Workdays and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays. I have read and understand the requirements of this position and accept these responsibilities as outlined above.
