Ski and Ride School Desk Supervisor

The Ski & Ride Desk Supervisor supervises the agents at the Ski & Ride School’s sales desks, organizes administrative aspects of the school such as payroll, purchasing, coordination of tasks and projects with other resort departments while performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Works in conjunction with the Ski & Ride School team to coordinate launch, sales and reporting
- Supervises, trains, schedules, and manages two SRS Sales Desks and the Desk Agents working these locations
- Works with guest experience recovery and customer service interactions
- Serves as a Desk Agent and works with guests with specific needs to book them into lessons – employees, complicated reservations, or families who need help understanding what they are looking for
- Coordinates the distribution and collection of the company property in the school – Key fobs, timecards & name tags.
- Oversees, with the help of the director, the Ski & Ride School’s payroll. Making sure every employee’s payroll is accurate. Works with the payroll department on reporting and accountability
- Coordinates, with the help of the director, purchasing for the department. Overseeing requesting quotes, ordering, invoicing, payments, and tracking.
- Operates as a central point of contact for SRS staff to find information they are looking for and better understand the many processes in the school.
- Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 3-5 employees within the Ski & Ride School desk area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
This position requires advanced computer proficiency, as it involves utilizing various operational programs, including Sirus, Inntopia, When2Work, AccPac, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Requires exceptional interpersonal skills and a high degree of empathy, given that it primarily involves interaction with guests and staff. Additionally, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining composure and focus, is crucial for delivering positive guest experiences.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and frequently required to stand; walk or sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. There are no specific vision requirements for this position.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid (non-weather) conditions and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Workdays and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
