The Condo Housekeeping Manager is responsible for directing the activities for all Condo Operations Housekeeping departments in a manner that will ensure all lodging guests are provided a clean, attractive, secure place to stay with friendly, attentive service. Overall responsibility includes the appearance and cleanliness of all condo lodging areas and public areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Provides the leadership, training, monitoring and evaluations necessary that ensures that the Jay Peak cleanliness brand standards are followed and that all accommodations are satisfactorily cleaned and inspected prior to being occupied.
- Driving a company vehicle on-site as needed to transport/deliver operational items and housekeeping teams.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, orients, and trains new housekeeping as well as update the training of existing housekeeping staff members. Conducts evaluations of staff members as required.
- Prepares work schedules and ensures housekeeping standards are met and labor budgets are on target.
- Takes regular inventories of linen, cleaning chemicals, operational items, and other supplies as needed.
- Prepares order for cleaning supplies and guest amenities. Ensures that budgeted expense goals are met through proper usage and control of those items.
- Maintains all required housekeeping staff timecards and uniform maintenance agreements.
- Provides on-going training and monitoring of staff members regarding the practice of safe work habits.
- Maintains security for guests and property by ensuring that condo doors are locked at all times, keys are controlled, and lost and found articles are properly logged and securely stored, reports suspicious activity by guests or others, and observes all security and safety regulations.
- Hosts weekly condo supervisor meetings and attends weekly housekeeping manager meetings.
- Offers direct team support in the fields if necessary to ensure cleanliness standards are met based on volume of business and staffing availability.
- Conducts unit inspections to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Assists in housekeeping efforts as needed.
- Prepares Housekeeping Room Assignment Report, assigns specific condos to each housekeeper or team, supervises housekeeping personnel.
- Prepares weekly and daily cleaning plans and communicates with the Executive Housekeeping Manager when concerns arise to work towards a solution.
- Forecasts and coordinates seasonal deep cleaning efforts with maintenance teams.
- Coordinates cleaning efforts for Jay Peak homeowners who utilize Jay Peak cleaning services.
- Monitors, reports and communicates damages within guest accommodations - to coordinate timely follow through with maintenance.
- Reports maintenance problems by completing work orders and follows up on all maintenance work in rooms to ensure that work is completed.
- Records and distributes monthly gratuities to condo team members.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.
- Must be available to work as needed to best support the needs of the department to include weekends.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Must hold a valid State of VT driver's license and be eligible for enrollment as a driver on Jay Peak Resort's Commercial Automobile Policy.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to our guests.
- Ability to handle more than one task, simultaneously in a calm manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages 6 to 10 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 70 employees in Condo Operations. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Minimum 3-5 years of management experience of related job required.
